It gives me great pleasure to welcome author Jenny Brigalow to my blog today.Born in Britain, she arrived in Australia as a young woman in 1985 for an impromptu holiday and never left. She fell in love with the Australian bush, its unique flora and fauna and the colourful personalities that inhabit the country. She lives on a small acreage close to Toowoomba with family, dogs, cats and ponies. She loves to write. She writes rural romance, young adult and, more recently, literary fiction. When she's not writing, she's reading, walking or riding her Connemara pony, Romeo. Rural romance is a natural extension of her passion for all things country. She believes that romance is the universal language of love. And besides, she loves a happy ending.

What inspired you to become a writer?
Have to be honest, I didn't have any inspirations. I am and always have been a voracious reader. But it never occurred to me that I could actually write a book. Then, several years ago, I injured my back. Bored and frustrated, I looked around for distraction. One day, amongst the junk mail, there was a flyer for correspondence education. One of the subjects was Romance Writing. Gosh, I thought, that looks fun, and signed up. Not a great course perhaps, not much by the way of feedback, but it did give me the tools to write my first story. And I was hooked. Haven't stopped since.
What's your preferred genre?
I don't have one. I read everything and anything. The back of the cornflakes packet if I'm desperate. For me it's not the genre that's important. It's the story. I struggle with the whole genre concept. I write my story then have to sit back and figure out which genre it fits into. I don't always get it right, although I am getting better.
Are you a plotter or a pantser?
Oh, a pantser for sure. Usually I have a beginning and an end, and then I fill in the gap. But, I have to admit, if I get bogged down in a story, it's usually a plot related problem. Mmm.......
Sum up your book in a tweet.
Love overcoming all the odds in the outback.
What's next for you?
What I hope is that I will continue to write and to be published. I am a storyteller at heart, and I ache to share my stories. Mind you, I'm not planning to give up my day job any time soon.
A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS
When successful rodeo rider and racehorse trainer Chad Cherub steps off the plane at Heathrow, love is the last thing on his mind. He’s travelled from Australia to do a business deal with the wealthy entrepreneur and racehorse fanatic, Walter Driscoll. However, he soon finds himself distracted by Wally’s gorgeous daughter, Seraphim.
Sweet, spoiled Seraphim, a gifted dressage rider, is also distracted. Engaged to the eminently suitable Barry Wellington-Worth, the arrival of cool, confident Chad forces her to re-examine her life. When she discovers the devastating truth that she does not love Barry, and learns that Chad’s cook has been injured, Seraphim jumps at the chance to take up the position on his remote property and scape the confines of her English life.
In the great dust bowl of the Australian Outback the couple find they have more in common than horses. Their love blooms as they work hard to start a new life together. But Seraphim’s family, and the past, threatens to tear them apart. It is only when the truth is laid bare that the barriers are broken own.
